'Personalised War Histories' is a research service which provides information, understanding and a deeper insight into the participation of Australians in War - ordinary Australians whose response for their country was extraordinary. 

The service is an excellent resource for the enquirer who wants to solve some long standing mystery or area of intrigue, for the traveller preparing for a battlefield tour following their family member's footsteps, or the typical family whose curiosity is high because their service person simply "didn't talk about the war".   

Major areas of research include the participation of Australian forces in the First World War and the Second World War.  Other projects may relate to the service of Australians in the Boer War, the Korean War, Vietnam and other conflicts.

The research service is offered to a wide range of customers including individuals, families, schools and corporate clients and is available to enquirers located in any country.

The Researcher

Denis McCarthy is a professional military history researcher who has enthralled many of his clients with his capacity for thoroughness in getting to the bottom of a case, his forensic detective work, creative approach and first class presentation of material. 

 In addition to his research work, Denis is also a battlefield tours escort.   His historical knowledge has been greatly enhanced by numerous trips to Gallipoli, the heart of the Anzac tradition.  He has also visited the Western Front battlefields of France and Belgium and those of North Africa including Tobruk and El Alamein.
